Brief Itinerary
- Day 1: Delhi to manali (overnight stay manali).
- Day 2: manali to chandartal lake, Enjoy the scenic drive and reach Chandratal Lake. (overnight camping near chandartal).
- Day 3: chandartal to kaza Acclimatize to the high altitude (Overnight stay in Kaza).
- Day 4: Visit Key Monastery and Kibber village. Explore the surrounding areas (Overnight stay in Kaza).
- day 5: Visit Langza, Hikkim, and Komic. (Overnight stay in Kaza).
- day 6: Kaza to Manali. Begin the drive back to Manali, via Kunzum pass and the Atal Tunnel (Overnight in Manali).
- day 7: manali to delhi departure.
important notes:
- spiti's high altitude (averaging over 12,000 feet/3,600 meters) can cause AMS.
- Spend the first day or two resting and acclimatizing.
- Drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity, and refrain from alcohol and smoking.
- Consult your doctor before traveling.
- spiti's weather can change rapidly. Days can be sunny and warm, while nights are cold.
- Pack warm, layered clothing, including thermal wear, fleece jackets, and a windproof/waterproof outer layer.
- The sun is strong at high altitude. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
- Carry a first-aid kit and any necessary medications.
- ATMs are limited, so carry sufficient cash.
- Food options are limited, primarily consisting of local Tibetan and Indian cuisine. Carry snacks and energy bars, especially if you have dietary restrictions.
- Connectivity: Cell phone coverage can be spotty. Consider carrying a satellite phone for emergencies.
- Accommodation in Spiti is generally basic, especially in remote areas. Homestays offer a unique cultural experience.
- Roads in Spiti can be rough, winding, and sometimes blocked by landslides.
